a lesson

Edward was discharged from the hospital on 30 June after his operation on 26 June. It has been 2 weeks after he came home, and he's recovering bit by bit. To him, the recovering process is very slow (8 weeks + according to the doctor). To me, the process is quite tough for both of us. He has to learn how to slow down in every aspects as he need help from me to handle some simple daily tasks and I have to learn to be patience as I'm his left & right hand now....

His injury has caused a lot of inconvenience indeed, to both of us, to our families and also many others. However, I believe it is a good lesson for us to learn to how to be close to each other, and how to love each other more. Through this hurdle, I'm sure our relationship will further enhanced! =)

Honey, wish you a speedy recovery!

Home alone

Mr. Shum got injured during football match. At first, I thought it was not serious. But when I arrived the emergency room, and when I saw him screaming after the doctors tried to fix his infected area, I realised it is quite serious.

He now need to stay in hospital for a week before he can do the surgery. Can see his unhappiness from his face. Hope that he can recover soon and come home soon.

Thanks all friends for your wishes and encouragement!

Father's Day Celebration

Starting from few years ago, I used to treat my father a dinner on the Father's Day. I understand my father very well, he always like BIG group gatherings. So this year, I have suggested my cousins to hold a "joint father's day celebration" together. Altogether, 3 families will be celebrating with 3 fathers!

They are all very supportive to this idea, but we have different viewpoint on which day to have the dinner. Some said they want the exact day (but not all of us can make it), and others said they want a day with all people available to show up (but can't use exact day).

To me, I also want the celebration to be on exact day, but if any of the sons/daughters are not available on the exact day, I am happy to change to another day which suits most of us. Like Edward said - if the fathers are happy, everyday could be a Father's Day! I believe the fathers would be happiest to see all their children to be able to join the dinner together!

Let's be considerate and make all our fathers happy!! ^_^

If I do not aim at making my father happy, I wouldn't suggest such a joint gathering which is much more complicated in the organization stage.

Thinking of You

Last night when I was watching TV with Edward on the sofa, I suddenly think of Grandma. It is 1.5 years already, but I still think of her from time to time. Really want to share with her my happy moments now, but............... Miss her a lot!

leisure housewife

My firm has started the no-pay leave scheme in April, so I have day offs from time to time. Although this scheme does impact me financially, I do enjoy the time off to stay home and be a leisure housewife.

Like today, I got up at around 11am, get on the internet, take a light lunch and start doing a lot of housework. These tasks are time consuming really! So I don't have time to do them when I have go to to work. Now I have the day offs, so I can fully utilised the time and make my home a better place to stay. ha ha..

As I've enough time in the afternoon, of course I have prepared dinner for my hubby. Please enjoy~

Looking forward to my 30's

Huwhee~ Tomorrow is my 30 years-old birthday, however it is not as special as I expected before. Perhaps it is because I have already met my own goal – get married before 30!! Yes, just got married for one month; and we have been back from the honeymoon for 2 weeks. During this period, I am still adapting to my new role as a “Part-time Housewife”. Well, although I have to do housework nowadays, I think I don't have any problems or issues taking care of my honey. I quite enjoy cooking for him. I tried to make two dinners so far, a typical dinner with rice and 3 dishes (after work wor......!) Make a breakfast on weekends is also my favourite!

The feeling of having my “home sweet home” is totally different from staying with my family in the past 29 years. “I am” or “We are” now in charge of all the daily tasks -- shopping in supermarket, doing laundry, cooking, and all bits & pieces for the house are actually continuous tasks that we have to do day by day and week by week. Luckily, I'm quite enjoyed doing them.

Sometimes (only sometimes) I would miss my parents, and the family atmosphere which I get used to in the past many many years. My family took care of me too well before! I miss them and miss the laughters sometimes! Ha ha...

Not intentionally complaining, but I feel really tired after work everyday - not because of the work itself that is too harsh - just because it takes me one hour to go to work and another one hour to travel back home. Specifically, I am still adapting to the new location ---- Apleichau!! Long travelling hours is a real problem to me when compared to the past. You know... it just took me 20 mins to arrive office while I used to live in North Point. It is so convenient to go almost everywhere from North Point! Anyway....... please give me some time to adapt!

Many friends / colleagues asked me when we would plan to have a baby. My answer to all of them is “A bit later, because we would like to have some time to relax first” Giving such an answer is not because we don't like a child, but because we really want to have a period of stable time first, after a full year organising our new flat and preparing the wedding! We would definitely like to enjoy some weekends where we can go to watch a movie or just leisurely enjoy an afternoon tea. Ha ha… too ideal, right? Let's see!

Counting Down

Our big day is just one month ahead.

When looking back, we have ReaLLy used one year to organise our wedding! There were so much to do and so many tasks to handle. Frankly speaking, there were a lot to be worried, and lot to be compromised but grateful that we're already in the final stage.

Just after one month's time, I will be his wife. Hope that we will have a smooth rundown on that day~

Looking forward to our honeymoon trip!
